    5x + 4y + x - 7y

    Put the x terms together and the y terms together

    5x = x = 6x

    4y - 7y = -3y

    So the simplified expression is

    6x - 3y

    7(x+2)=6

    Divide both sides by 7

    x + 2 = 6/7

    Take 2 from each side

    x = 2 6/7

    5x + 4y + x - 7y =

    6x - 3y.

    and

    7(x + 2) = 6

    7x + 14 = 6

    7x = - 8

    x = - 8/7

    or

    x = - 1 1/7.

    1).

    5x + 4y + x - 7y

    = 3(2x - y)

    2).

    7(x + 2) = 6

    x = -8/7

    5x+4y+x-7y

    5x+x+4y-7y

    x(5+1)+ y (4-7) (Factorization of x and y)

    6x-3y

    3(2x-y)

    7(x+2)=6

    7x+2*7=6

    7x+14=6

    7x+14-14=6-14

    7x= - 8

    x= -1.142

    5x + 4y + x -7y

    Regroup the terms

    (5x + x) + (4y - 7y)

    6x - 3y
