Does the 2014 Mid-Term matter at all?

Even though it looks extremely likely Republicans will win the Senate, it is equally likely that they will fall well short of the 61 seats neded for a veto -proof majority. Regardless of who wins, doesn't that still mean we can look forward to at least another 2 and a half years of congress getting absolutely nothing accomplished?

Update:

So what I'm hearing is it only matters to all the partisans causing the gridlock in the first place so they can score ego/ideological points.

For myself, I expect my government to govern and governing does not equal voting nearly 40 times to repeal Obamacare when everyone knows it can't pass. It appears we can all sit back, relax and look forward to congress wasting more time voting on bills that don't have a snowball's chance in Hell of ever becoming law rather than actually trying to find areas of agreement with the other side and working on legislation that will benefit the American people and move the country forward.

On the contrary....Congress will get much accomplished.

If Obama vetoes all the bills that doesn't mean Congress isn't working.

I guess it depends what it is that you want accomplished. Most liberals define Congressional accomplishments as passing the liberal agenda (amnesty, expanding entitlements, etc), so by that measure the next Congress probably won't get much done.

At least Obama will have to veto bills instead of leaving it up to Harry Reid.

it will mean Republicans can get bills voted on, Democrats will have to show what they stand for
