Guess what CHASE bank told me today re: 17 y o's and bank accounts?
Any 17 yo with proper documentation can open a regular savings account on their own (Seattle, WA). If the 17 y o is also in college (or a rapid start college plus high school type program) they can also open a checking account without a parent or other co-signer. So the best advice to high schoolers is to ask around.

No question here. I was just tired of hearing others say "No personal account until 18" - but i do not see any responses from the people I was targeting. And differences - yes. That is why I stated my location.
