Cost of installing a toilet where there wasnt one before?

I moved into a new house which only has one bathroom. In the basement we have a laundry room, but no toilet or sink. There was not one there before. The toilet I want to install is near the water heater (if that matters) and water pipes. I'm simply curious if anyone else has had a toilet installed where there wasnt one before and what the cost was. I don't know the first thing about it.

  • Depending on what part of the country you live in. Toilet installs generally run at $75-$120 labor. With installing a toilet in a spot where there wasn't one previously can be tricky. Is the floor a concrete slab or plywood subfloor. Issues include a vent pipe needed in area, plumbing new water supply line to toilet, connecting new drain lines to existing sewer lines. Cost will depend on easy of access to water lines and sewer lines. Could be as little as a few hundred to over a thousand. Get at least 3 estimates, check references.

not knowing where you are, try lowes or home depot and ask about a toilet that can flush up hill. They have them and they cost.

in my basement is my washing machine and a wash tub, the washing machine drains into the tub and the tub's drain goes to a a tank that is outfitted with a pump the raises the water 8 feet to the drain pipe.
