I cut my knee open pretty badly a couple weeks ago, went down to the tendons, what should I do to make it recover faster?

Im wondering should i leave it alone and try not to use it so much so it heals, or should I gradually use it more and more until its back to normal? (right now it hurts pretty bad to use the muscles) Also would eating a lot of protein and calcium help it repair faster? what should I do???

You really need to take it easy. Try wrapping your knee with an ace bandage. Apply ice (15 minutes on, 15 minutes off), and keep it elevated. Take some Motrin for pain. If the pain persists more than a day or 2, consult your doctor. Sorry for your injury. Hope you feel better real soon!
