Sudden blurry vision in one eye?

My right eye's been bugging me today. Stinging on & off. It started to get blurry a couple hours ago, so I took out my non-prescription colored contacts (a brand I've used for years) & it's getting worse. If I get closer to something it starts to clear up a bit, but for the most part my sight won't focus in that eye. The pupil is also a little smaller in that eye than the left. Kinda freaking out.. never had my eye see this blurry for so long before. Usually when my vision is blurry it's just some gunk I need to get out, but my eye is clear. I've been using eye drops (expiration is July 2016) & they're not doing anything except temporarily relieving redness/stinging pain, but only momentarily. Of course my insurance doesn't cover optometrists, & OF COURSE the pain/blurry vision didn't start until AFTER my doctor's appointment earlier. If it matters, I'm 24 and have Sjogren's Syndrome (autoimmune disorder), which causes my eyes & mouth to become dry, but my eyes have never had blurry vision from the dryness. My father had cataracts several years ago & was just informed my family has a history of glaucoma. Can glaucoma/cataract symptoms just start out of the blue like this?? I don't know what to do, since I don't have optometrist coverage should I see my primary care doctor? Happy birthday to me :'(

Update:

I've had issues with far sighted vision for as far back as I can remember (yet my eye sight was always 20/20), but it's gotten worse over the last couple years. I really only notice it when driving & looking at street signs; I can't make them out until I'm right up to them.

Yes you are right your allergies could be causing your eye to go blurry, you may also just have a virus which can sometimes affect vision. I also used to get blurry vision in my left eye, I was simply told that either i wasnt getting enough sleep resting my eyes or I was looking at a computer or tv screen for too long, if it persists maybe see your GP that way he can fully diagnose the situation, and give you some eye drops or something.

Thank you, will do. It cleared up after a VERY difficult time falling asleep due to stinging and pain. I found out I've been using the wrong solution for my lenses, used them too long and kept rinsing them with tap water.

See your primary care doctor asap. You could have a bacterial infection, so he needs to rule that out. If that is the case, you will need antibiotics.

It could be related to your autoimmune disease, in which case he might give you something for that. Try taking an anti-inflammatory like ibu profen. If your eye is inflamed (pupil not dilating) then that should help.
