    There are several ways the U.S. team could have moved on to the second round.

    1.) A U.S. win against Germany would put the U.S. as the leader of their group.

    2.) The U.S. and Germany tie.

    3.) Ghana and Portugal tie. This would make the U.S. and Germany the only teams with a win.

    4.) The U.S. finishes with the most goals between a tie-breaker.
