Were we men wrong about women? This question came to mind due to my thoughts on feminism and its effect on women.?

I'm asking because it was us men that defined women as compassionate, selfless, and elegant beings. We were in power and that was the image that we placed. But now that the element of chose has come into play most women have started painting a very different picture. Sure women still fill this role for children, but that only due to maternal instincts. This made me question the female role in relevance to men. Maybe women were never compassionate, at let not to men. Nor did the ever want to show compassion. Maybe the definition of women was a fabric of male imagination. The elegance, the selflessness. It was only real because women had no chose and we men wanted it so. However that's not the case anymore and over the years a lot of truths have been revealed through modern female behavior.

I know this may spark a few flames but I feel I've stumbled upon a revelation. I need different opinions other than my own before I set this in stone. After all no one man's an island.

So were we men wrong to define women a compassionate beings.

No hate please, only reasonable answers, thanks.

Update:

Well the truth is we men fooled ourselves, and I feel the answer is both yes and no. The given demographics labeled was for a greater good at the time. But my point here being: I feel women were only compassionate beings because we demanded it. But in truth most women don't seem compassionate at all, at least not to men, and to make matters worst they've chosen this path of they're own will.

I am a compassionate man. This isn't a compassionate world. I don't want to grow cold simply to survive.

I've known some men and some women that can be defined as all three things: "compassionate, selfless, and elegant beings"...those are all the qualities that I admired my mother for, and they are some of the qualities that I admire my boyfriend for...they are good qualities to have in the people that you are closest to.

We all know that some women are total jerks as are some men, so I am surprised that you even need to ask this question. Sorry but that must have always been true. You were raised with some strange ideas that were most likely never shared by most people.

Men labeled women this way for the good of men. Men didn't do this out of reverence to Women. Don't act like women fooled men. Men fooled themselves. Just like the lie that men are rational beings or any less emotional than women. Men sit no higher on the steps of life than women. Its time to burst the ego bubble and live in the real world.

Men were wrong to define women as a whole as anything at all. Just as women were wrong to do it to men,

Most people are compassionate beings regardless of their gender. But there are plenty of people out there who lack compassion, again regardless of gender.

Were we wrong to define all men as tough stoic strong rocks? Men and women have all sorts of weird ideas about how each gender should be, once you start living in the real world you know none of them are true for anyone...

Well, how do we, you, know if we are compassionate if we're forced to be compassionate? For example.
