How would you fix the border problem?

Before you say that the land belonged to the Mexicans first, google Tongva indians. They lived in So Cal for centuries before mexicans exterminated them. The indians hated mexicans and considered them enemies and this is important because it takes away mexicans claim for the land. I think it's unfair for those that earned their citizenship and learned the language to watch as these people freely walk into the U.S without working for it.I'm also Catholic and have a soft spot for the homeless and the needy, and let's face it, South America has some of the most dangerous, corrupt and poor places on Earth and I would want to leave too, but LEGALLY.I'm going to try not to sound racist, but these are facts. The illegal immigrant problem isn't coming from Canada, it's Mexico. L.A has been taken over my mexican gangs and cartels, flooding the streets with violence, kidnappings and drugs. With so many illegals successfully getting in to the Sates, doesn't that mean a terrorist could get in as well?Out of all the races mexicans are most criticized. They don't speak English, and rather than paying taxes to the land that gave them a job they send their $ back to mexico. They wave the mexican flag everywhere and have no pride in being American. I could go on and on.

Solution- Build 30f, 800 mile long electrified wall. Don't tell me we can't do it. The Chinese did it thousands of years ago without any machinery(save the electricity). So how would you solve this ever growing problem.

I liked George W. Bush's "Guest Worker" program. I also think immigration reform and a pathway to citizenship is also a good idea. Strict enforcement of existing law and deportation is too expensive and impractical given how big we've allowed the illegal immigrant problem to grow. The best method is to get those people to cooperate with law enforcement, which means offering leniency. Then we can focus funds on actually patrolling the border.

  • 1. Bring the troops home from overseas. That war is none of our business.

    2. Seal the borders

    3. Station the returned troops on that newly sealed border to KEEP it sealed.

    4. Round up and deport the illegals (no, it doesn't cost $11,000 each to deport them. just round them up and put them on a bus.

    5. UNelect every last politician who did not vote to seal the borders.

threaten business owners to loose business or be fined if have illegal alien workers, no longer allow illegal kids to attend our schools and not allow american kids to get public benefits without an american parent.

if laws were set like that it would prevent the illegal aliens from coming because those are the things they come for (work, free school and welfare-free money&food)

I would put the full force of the US military on the border. Of course, I would put the Marines near where the Mexican government is holding our Marine hostage in full battle ready posture supported by tanks, air resources and artillery. God bless!

Yes, put thousands of troops and mines and fence and attack dogs and whatever else you want. Nuke AZ, TX and So Cal. But Don't Try to Pass An Immigration bill as that would cost too much. You cry about govt expense and in the next breath want to spend billions on the border, I love right wing logic. Giving people healthcare costs too much, killing them is a freebie!

Enforce the immigration laws, close the border.

Who will pay for the miles and miles of fence? Obama announced on TV the government gave 1 million to help at the border and there will be no more help. He said this when Gov. Perry asked for help.

Texas has spent billions on the illegals in one year . Texas and Arizona passed some laws of their own to keep them from ruining the economy. The government sued Arizona and when they said something to Gov. Perry, he told them they can not tell the states what to do.

There are over 22 million illegals here in Texas and they have had babies and are gong to have more babies. And more are coming in and thousands are coming in by the bus loads. Some laws were passed so welfare would not pay for all the babies being born and the babies do not become citizens when they are born here.

If people would quit hiring them, they would quit coming here.

They live on our street and are taking over neighborhoods.

One family rents a house and 4 more families move into the house and they park their 5 cars on the grass.

Some protesters in California met some of the buses this week at the border and told them they did not want any more of their people and the buses went back to Mexico.

Stop fire fighting and start prevention

No more false hope to illegals already in the USA, such as the non existent dream act...2 years extension to live in the USA before the illegal becomes even more illegal and uses whatever they can to extend their stay longer.

Stop birth right citizenship...gives "whole families a foot in the door"

Stop chain migration..again there as a false promise, with a 10-20 year wait for sisters, cousins, great aunt etc

Stop Green Card lottery, if the USA wants/needs unskilled, uneducated workers to migrate then use the ones already there illegally who have made a life in the USA and are ducking and diving to avoid being deported, they apply for the job, they return to their country and if they get the job then they get the legal right to return

Make employers legally prove their employees rights to work/live in the country, even American citizens so equality of treatment, any employer who doesn't have a copy of each employees birth cert, passport, GC, work visa, driver license or whatever is required, will be fined $10,000 per illegal employee and employee arrested, jailed and deported. Spot checks as visits on various sized/types of businesses to inspect records will enforce this

Stop giving driver licenses and IDs to illegals

With no way of working, not birth right citizenship, no way of driving legally, no benefits available to illegals, no " dream act" to enable extended stays, their only option is to break the law ( which they have already done) and so will be sooner or later stopped, arrested , taken to court that day/next day and deported,( not arrested and released to be lost again)

Lock it down with military forces. Like most other nations do Including Mexico. You don't need that kind of thing on the Canadian side, but stricter document control and such is in order, as 40% of Illegals are non-Mexican, mostly Legal entries who overstayed their particular entry term.

    It is that simple.

we cannot be the the lifeboat for the world. No one else is trying to be,

Know that immigrants that take the hard road to citizenship and have tears in their eyes when they say the star spangled banner for the first time make me proud and pump me up, because that's what the U.S is all about. The majority of Latinos in prisons are illegals. Illegals despise Americans and have an air about them that this is their home, not ours, even though they are here illegally.
