Why is my old school 5 HP Tecumseh leaking gasoline from the primer bulb area on the carb? Also won't start.?

This old beast usually starts on the 2nd pull, but today I noticed it had drained itself COMPLETELY of fuel and has a leak from the primer bulb area when I put some gas in. Won't start either.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

Usually a sign of a stuck open needle/seat that allows gas to continue flowing into the bowl even though the float is trying to turn it off. Buy a carb rebuilding kit and put in a new needle and seat and primer bulb, OR just buy a new carb

Check the hose, prime bulb and the bowl for cracks or dry rot. The o-ring of the bowl could be worn bad and need to be replaced.

    The bulb is dry rotted.
