Auto Paint help?

I used to do body and paint for a living but its been years.

I fixed this pup, now I need advice to paint it, do I need lighter primer?

What kind of clear coat paint is known to last? What brand?

    Gray primmer is fine and use ppg if you can find it. I have sprayed there base/clears for years and it will outlast the car..

    You can use dtm (direct to metal) primer. normally youd used a lighter primer for lighter colour and black for darker colours but it doesnt really matter anymore with the primers there coming out with these days.

    and for your clear coat your best bet is to spend the extra dollar becuase itll be better for a longer life and uv protection. Go to justreps.com or 3M.com
