  • Asking about percentage is erroneous, but the question: "Are people really that ignorant about life? I am worried." This is a *real* question coming from your urge to find out about *life* and to look through the fake!

I can understand your urge, because the same worries me since some years: As long as I am here at the Internet, trying to find something genuine and *real*!

I had the intention to help suffering people by answering their urgent, essential and personal questions, (personal because it should come out of their individual condition), - but it is extremely rare, that such a question shows up.

I had ask myself: Why it is like this, as it goes against any intelligent behavior, holding people stuck in ignorance and a limited state of their *growth*?

The answer is that this is a step in humans evolution, where they still need to protect themselves against any change and so they must defend their once reached condition, defending themselves by ignoring what doesn't confirm them or rejecting what they dont like.

Thats why no *real* questions are ask, only those that confirm ones state of being, even though this is erroneous and based on ones limited awareness!

So it seems that disappointment and frustration has to accumulate to such an amount that the suffering becomes unbearable and then there might show up *real* questions...

  • Honestly, I doubt that serious inquiries are made here...at least I hope not. If I had any spiritual questions(I don't because I am, despite my name on here, an atheist.) this would be the last place I'd look.

That having been said, I do give serious answers part of the time. At the very least, I try to be entertaining.

Oh, and I ask A LOT of questions about the spirituality of various potato salad recipes.

I am glad you asked this question, for I have also noticed the vast amount of nonsense being posted in this section, but not all categories are the same. But I believe most of the nonsense questions being take place in "Society & Culture" under R&S, and is becoming frustrating to skim thru these questions to determine which are genuine and legitimate or otherwise. And, if I may not be mistaken, legitimate questions are hardly posted, therefore I will rate R&S is about 15% legit, and 85% nonsense.

ALL the questions are real but few are sincere based upon how they are phrased at least. It's fun to see how many Christian haters calling themselves atheists get a wedgie about Christians though.

very few. most theists are insistent that if they ask the right question everyone will want to join their specific little cult group. they can't even decide which cult amongst the hundreds is the right one.

I would go with 5% are actual questions with about 80% being rants for or against religion and about 15% trolls.

It depends on your POV. I have a feeling most questions have a kernel of sincerity in them but for one reason or another they derail from the implied negative opinions and connotations.

The real troll questions, to me, aren't the medley of things being asked left and right by a variety of people. The real trolls are the ones who ask the same thing week after week, month after month, adding up to years asking the same thing to the same people and no matter how often they are given the answer they ask again.

Actually, I made that up. Your chances are of a meaningful answer are slim to none, so I wanted you to have something.

All of my questions are legitimate. I really wanted to know why the castaways didn't just pray to get off the island.
