You are wrong on both counts. First of all he does not posses the ability to assess the whole situation or people accurately. Nor is he admired by that many, apart of course Madam Sturgeon. :Like two fishes in a glass bowl. Round and round, and no where to go.

You do realise that Alex Salmond has actually cost the Yes side support by being a pratt, I mean he goes on about LGBT rights and then comes out in support of Putin (I am not surprised since he is friends with a virulent homophobe) he got heckled at the launch of the new Aircraft Carrier because if they go independent that shipyard will close down, he got booed at Murrayfield when I was there, Andy Murray publically distanced himself from him when he tried to go all nationalist on him after his Wimbledon victory last year.

I would hardly say he is popular.

Oh but wait you are a cybernat so reality doesn't apply to you

Popular? Among some, especially those who are fanatic about independence, though many people see him for what he is - a politician so unafraid to lie he makes Nick Clegg look honest, and so out of touch with economic and social reality that he makes George Osborne look like one of the common people. Those whose vision for Scotland relies on believing those lies and fantasies will of course treat Salmond like the messiah, and they are a very vocal group - so vocal that there have been cases of people (from the rich and famous to the ordinary) who are scared to come out and speak against Salmond and the Yes campaign because of the hostility and, in many cases, outright abuse they receive from the pro-independence lobby. So it seems like everyone loves Salmond, but on the ground in my experience that's not really the case, both in Scotland and elsewhere.

Now there's alleged intimidation of Pro UK businesses

You have gone from being a land of plenty to borrowing money alot 2.4 billion to "end austerity". Leaving you with a greater level of exposure than Iceland And Standard and Poor said you would have a banking system like Iceland and you could not bailout your own banks. This action of borrowing proves the warnings from the IFS correct. Oh "Sterlingisation" violates EU regulations for you will forgo a central bank and that is a mandatory requirement But I am sure Salmond has already told you that. Salmond is many things devious and a liar is what I would call him

Oh dear now it seems Salmond's a gangster too
