How do I reduce the smell of perfume in the air while being polite to the one wearing it?
I refuse to ask them to cut it out. I am not friends with the person and nor do we speak. It is just a coworker who sits in my area. The smell is so heavy and bad it is making me sick.
I just want any ideas on what I can do to neutralize the air in my area when this person is around. It is so bad, I can't stand it. Would keeping coffee gounds on my desk work? Anything? Please let me know if you know of anything to kill the smell of perfume in the air.

Leave an anonymous note at the person's desk while they are away, mentioning that they need to cut way back on the amount of perfume they are dousing themselves with every day since it is an annoyance to the other employees. I don't think there is any way to cover an overwhelming amount of scent like that. Maybe get a personal fan and try to blow it away? Coffee grounds might not be a bad plan, either. Try all 3 and see how it goes.

Get small battery powered fan and blow the stink away from yourself (back at them maybe)
[I am allergic to perfume so have had this problem many times...]
