when training to run distance what should i focus on?
planning to start running to mix up my normal routine i want to run 3-4 days a week i just want to run distance starting at 3-4 miles a day than add a extra day or 1-2 miles every 2 weeks but do i run at a steady pace all the way through? do i mess with the incline?

Each day do different things. One day can be a speed workout, another day could be hill reps, and another can be a distance day. When training for distance don't worry about speed or amount of hills. Focus on going far even if it takes you a long time, but always keep running! When running distance start with a slow conversational pace. For distance days, you do want to run at a pretty steady slow pace. But for speed workouts you may want to do intervals (running for a specific amount of time at a high speed then dropping down to normal jogging for a certain time and keep repeating)
