No, rescue them. Every time some save the world moron gets trapped in the ice (remember those Aussies who got stuck in Antarctica?) our side gains converts. They ar making the point better than us "deniers" ever could that AGC is a bunch of hockum.

Heck, I'll even donate to a arctic expedition.

If they're U.S. citizens, they would have already paid taxes that went to the Coast Guard. However, if you'd like to start assessing people that actually benefit from U.S. Government expenditures, I would like those people that supported the war in Iraq to be assessed a few trillion dollars. Certainly most people did not benefit from the war, and I don't think the U.S. as a whole is better for having fought it, so let's let those people that thought it was a good idea to pay for it.

Jerry and BB, did you support the Iraq War? If you did, let's see you start paying on that multi-trillion dollar debt that was incurred from it. If you can't pay, no problem, we'll just start liquidating your houses, garnishing your wages, etc., to pay for it.

EDIT: Jerry, the delusional part is that you post garbage like this question, while ignoring much larger things. How much did this rescue cost? Let's say $50,000, that seems like a reasonable estimate, although perhaps on the high side. How many rescues could be performed for a trillion dollars? Twenty million rescues!

But somehow you are more worried about the cost of rescuing some unfortunate person in his sailboat than you are about things like the Iraq War. Who is the delusional one? Have you heard the phrase "Penny wise and pound foolish", and do you know what it means?

People like yourself seem to have no sense of proportion. You sit quietly and accept the lies that you're told while trillions of dollars are spent, then work yourself into a tizzy over something millions of times smaller.

Absolutely! Unless they have some sort of insurance to cover their 'adventures', they need to liquidate everything they own to cover the various rescues.....their homes, personal property....wage garnishments....etc.

If they are out there making a living....fishing or shipping....sure....cover that....it's legit. But these recreational sailing adventures don't come under the definition of 'legitimate'.

One thing you can't tax is ignorance. If you could we could be out of debt just by the greenies and politicians alone.

They should be taxed or fined just like a mountain climber is when he is rescued.
