Is there an animal DNA bank?

I heard recently that there's a place in London (I think) that has a "seed bank" for the world's plant varieties, and it has thousands of seeds from around the world to ensure the various species don't become extinct.

Does anyone know of a similar "bank" where animal DNA is preserved, say from a piece of skin or whatever?

If not I think this would be a great thing to have, with so many of our animals becoming extinct almost daily.

I do not know if there is a master "bank", but there are tons all over the world. I work at a zoo and we have our own cryo bank. It is full of sperm, eggs and other samples.
