How do I concatenate two cells in Excel?
I have two cells, both containing text, in different areas of the same excel sheet. I want to concatenate them into another cell, but when I type the formula
=concatenate (b7 , f25) I only see my formula, not its result. All 3 cells are formatted as Text. Any ideas?

3 AnswersWords & Wordplay7 years agoHow does a doughnut-shaped object expand?
A tube from a car tire is free (no tire on it, no wheel within it) and it's inflated to a regular torroidal shape.
Say the diameter across the inside (the wheel diameter) is 50cm. If we inflate it further, will this distance increase, decrease, or remain the same?
The tube itself will become "fatter" but will this be compensated by its becoming longer?
1 AnswerPhysics7 years agoIs there an animal DNA bank?
I heard recently that there's a place in London (I think) that has a "seed bank" for the world's plant varieties, and it has thousands of seeds from around the world to ensure the various species don't become extinct.
Does anyone know of a similar "bank" where animal DNA is preserved, say from a piece of skin or whatever?
If not I think this would be a great thing to have, with so many of our animals becoming extinct almost daily.

Some parts of Africa and other places are still virtually unexplored. I've read about tribes of people who have been found who have never had contact with the modern world. What area is the least explored on Earth (not underwater) ?
1 AnswerEarth Day7 years agoCan I use string and numeric variables in Visual Studio?
I'm just exploring Visual Studio 2012 with a view to creating programs similar to those that can be made in the various BASIC languages. I can't find any references to adding variables to a project. Are they available, and if so, how do I add them to my project?
2 AnswersProgramming & Design7 years agoHow do I place code on a Visual Studio control?
I'm trying to learn to use Visual Studio 2012, using the MS tutorial that's included. But I come to a grinding halt after creating a simple project (two radio buttons and a control button) when I try to add code for the control button. Where, and how, do I add the codes?
3 AnswersProgramming & Design7 years agoWhen do we use "was" and when "were"?
We say "if I WERE younger..." but we also say "I WAS younger then", when both are singular.
We also say "if he WERE younger..." and "he WAS younger".
As a kid, I'd say "if I WAS younger..." and "if he WAS younger..."
Was I (WERE I?) wrong then, or have the rules changed?
4 AnswersOther - Education7 years agoWhy do we say"to be honest, ..."?
When we ask for an opinion on something, we often get the response, "To be honest, ..."
Is the inference here that normally we are not to expect them to be honest?

4 AnswersYahoo Answers7 years agoWhere did "laughing on the other side of your face" come from?
When being "rebuked" for treating something as funny when it really isn't, my parents would say, "you'll be laughing on the other side of your face in a minute!"
It's occurred to me now that this doesn't seem to make sense. Does anyone know how this originated, and what it means?
1 AnswerTrivia7 years agoHow do I stop a Javascript "Confirm" box appearing at the top of the page?
I have an HTML page on which I'm practicing Javascript, and it has two very simple pieces of script, then another that has a "Confirm" box (an "Alert" with "OK" and "Cancel" buttons in it).
But when I open the page, the Alert appears at the top of the page.
I've tried using DIVs and paragraphs to hold it but it still appears at the top.
What's the simplest (and correct) way to make it appear below the previous "document.write" sections?

On pictures and simulations of The Milky Way, the planets all seem to move in the same plane. Is this actually the case, or do they move at different angles to the sun's poles (if the sun has poles)?
