I went to a wedding today and became very depressed.?

I am very happy for the bride and the groom, but all of a sudden I felt like crying and I did. Now I'm depressed. Not sure why. No I'm not married and not in a relationship leading to marriage right now, but that circumstance ahs never prevented me from being happy for someone else and celebrating their happiness. What is going on? Why am I sad?

Are they friends of yours? Perhaps you just have that feeling that "everyone's getting married except" you, and it's making you think subconsciously that you never will - but don't worry, your time will come.

weddings are sad events especially when you see someone close to you getting hitched and going into a new life with a partner. it's normal to feel down that this is something you would have wanted as well .. give it time .. you will be back to your cheerful self in no time.

Bandwagon syndrome. Your friends are getting married (or having babies, getting divorced, etc) and you're not "one of them" and you feel left out.

Not only that but your relationship with both of them has changed - and change is hard.

That said, wait a few days. If you sincerely cannot "snap out of it" in a week, then consider counseling.

sometimes i feel like that, i break down for the most simple things, maybe something bothers you on the inside and becase you had a big feeling (happiness) some other big feeling (depression) might have found the opportunity to pop out

She's my friend. We are not age mates. I'm her senior by about 15 years. She made a beautiful bride. Very proud of her.
