what's the difference between "insignificant" and "unimportant"?

    insignificant carries the notion of lacking impact, effect, capacity, ability

    unimportant is more an assessment, judgment, or conclusion concerning value or significance

    In a statistical context, something that is statistically significant may or may not be important. Same for something that is not statistically significant.
