Would You Tell The Mom Of Her Daughters Internet Activity?

I am friends with the Mom and her 12 year old daughter. I recently came across the daughter's You Tube account and discovered 'likes' and memberships I know the mother would not approve of.

Should I tell her?

I'm on the fence. As far as 'likes' go, do any of us like what our teens like? Probably mom wouldn't be that upset but...

You might want to start with, "I know you have to pick your battles while raising kids. Have you checked out your daughter's you tube account?" I mean, if YOU found it, then mom can. That way, no need to 'show' her anything.

To me, this is a no-brainer. Of course you would tell her. If she's letting a 12 year old navigate the net with no supervision, she's begging for trouble and she needs a wake up call.

Also, to the answer that said this is "ratting her out"....uh, no. Anything you put on the net, especially with a popular worldwide site like Youtube, is ratting YOURSELF out.

For me, it would depend on the scale of how inappropriate it is. Stuff that could be dangerous, or illegal, I'd definitely rat the child out. More minor stuff, I'd attribute to her starting to grow up, and develop her own sense of self.

Totally agree with ista, it would depend if it could lead to her getting hurt in anyway or putting herself in danger
