Looking for McCoy Cookie Jars?

there are some traditional mccoys that are unmarked but once you get an eye you can tell fake from the real McCoy and yes thats why that phrase came into play ive purchased many from 2nd hand stores a library can supply you a referance book but many prices shown are high compared to availabilty the internet has created shawnee make very nice cookie jars as well and some are extremely valuable id say McCoy range between 25.00 to 75.00 on average each so if a higher price is asked id do some research and quality is always your goal always check that lid fits correctly as scammers change these alot the only one i know that McCoy dropped the ball on is an old style cookstove style that the lids were too thin and they warped when they fired its the only factory defect ive ever encountered so all other lids should fit snug look close as they valueless if altered the ones with the "cold paint" chipped or missing do not nessisarily loose value but as a selling feature you can sometimes get "bargains" by pointing this out its a rewarding hobby i collected for years and over 50 McCoys were a consolation prize for my ex as she new very well i enjoyed them it doesnt mean much to collect without someone else to enjoy them too so ive given it up but at one time my passion was great enjoy and look closely hope my tips will help
