Two Puppies from same Litter?
I got two male and female shih tzu puppies and i was originally gonna breed them but i heard the offspring would get health issues so i switched the plan into getting them fixed.
Right now they are 3 months old and i heard it wrong to have puppies from the same litter. My family has lots of time on our hands so we spend time with them daily.
Why is it bad to have two puppies of the same litter? I don't understand? They learn quickly, and they are already potty trained.

You are able to breed your puppies, but I would highly advise not to. Because if you do breed them, the puppies are more prone to diseases, if they don't already have one after birth.

There's nothing at all wrong with having two puppies from the same litter as long as you don't breed them to each other. Make sure you spend time with each of them separately so they don't become too dependent on each other.

people don't advise getting two puppies for the same litter because they will supposedly bond with each other better than the humans but i've had two shih tzus in the past and they did great so as long as you don't plan to breed them you have nothing to worry about :)

It isn't very good to breed within such a close bloodline. It can cause medical issues like it does with humans. It is a very big risk.

Such close inbreeding would bring out all of the recessive genes they have. Recessive genes carry weaknesses and genetic diseases.
