Gun Control Advocates- Why do you think it works?

Only real answers- people FOR Gun Control-NO TROLLS or ignorant people- Genuinely want to hear your thoughts as to why you believe there is a correlation between gun control and less violence-

The top 10 cities in 2012 for murder and non-negligent homicides are the following-

Detroit-strict gun control laws

New Orleans-lax gun control

St Louis-strict gun control

Baltimore-strict gun control

Newark-strict gun control

Oakland-strict gun control

Stockton-strict gun control

Kansas City-lax

Philly -strict gun control

Cleveland-lax

I defined strict as you may not carry/conceal a loaded weapon- or will never get a permit for

Lax- obviously the opposite-

I do not see a correlation between restricting gun access and lowering crime-

Update:

and nobody answered the question... Should have expected that-

Update 2:

except just grandma- thank you

Update 3:

should I have included that every male in Switzerland owns an assault rifle by law?

Because their GOAL is to balk ONLY LAWFUL citizens' ability to act LAWFULLY in their on defense. See? IT WORKS.

Source(s): Literally 100% of them expressly demand the safest cities/states COPY the deadliest ones, thus PROVING what their goal HAS TO BE.

So by your own list it seems it makes no difference whether there are strict gun laws or none, violent crime with guns will happen.

City gun laws are not intended to eliminate all gun crime, that would be naive to think that guns do not still come into the city from outside sources. The intent, and admitted it does not always work, is to make guns harder for criminals to obtain and to make it easier to charge violent criminals who use guns.

New York City is a good example. Their stricter gun laws have not eliminate violent gun crimes but it has dropped the incidents and made it easier for the police to charge and put away the criminals who use guns in the commission of a crime.

Theres no links and the cities do not really show the laws that are in place. Then you never take in mind if that these murders are actually done by guns or maybe without firearms. Then disregard that they are actually poor

Britains has strict gun laws and hardly any gun violence.

Then you say strict is you cannot carry of conceal a weapon that is actualy pretty lax dude. You can put up alot of places then if you do that and make your argument however you feel.

    This is weak

The implemented gun control BECAUSE of the murder rate. Gun control will only work if bordering states also have strict gun control, otherwise the crooks still have easy access that others do not. Most of the murders in all these places are gang related, and are not indicative of gun control. They have other issues. If you want to just post random cities, then post places in Canada too. They have strict gun control, especially hand guns, but it is not as easy to get them from across the border.

It doesn't work. We have thousands of unregistered guns on every level in society.

What we can do is make sure that new guns of the assault types aren't available, that extended magazines aren't imported or manufactured, and that all new guns are sold with locks,

A more intensive background check, and training period before licensing would be practical.

There is no point in comparing guns and violence in the US, we don't have functional national standards so if you can't buy a gun in one place you can in the next county or city. That makes any attempt to keep guns out of dangerous areas useless. Two things lead to violence, poverty and population.

Whether gun control works or not, is not the point. There will always be robberies and murders, because criminals will buy illegal guns, or make bombs from household products. The issue is over human rights: an armed population prevents a government from becoming too tyrannical or totalitarian

They're usually liberal p@ssies who cry and whine and let tragedies happen. Ever think how georgia and the Carolina's and Alabama and Mississippi and the rest of the south don't have this crap despite having gun owners in 90% of homes?

Gun Freedom is unfortunately winning over gun control in America.

Why do you think Gun Freedom is best for America, when so many criminals can get guns, when guns are so idolized (God hates that), guns are so glorified that so many Americans boost their ego and empower themselves by owning a gun?

Homicides using any weapon or no weapon in the US average about 7.5 per 100,000....about the same as Canada, Western Europe and Japan. Oddly the same statistic applies to pedestrians run down and killed in traffic accidents...7.5 per 100,000.

If I could push a button and all guns dissappeared, I wouldn't hesitate. But no button exists.
