The hidden answers have to do with a relevance factor of some kind. No one from Yahoo! has officially said what the criteria is for answers that are or are not hidden. It is a computerized sorting of answers with "relevance" factored in. If you click on the word relevance at the top of the answers the answers can be sorted according to relevance, newest, oldest and rating.

What you are seeing is a beta test of the "relevance" system. The new system does an internal "google" review of the answers and determines the best ones. It is probably a keyword search (we think, staff are silent). So the only thing you can do is give a complete sentence, detailed answer using the same keywords as the question. You can always change the sort order to see all answers or click on unhide/show answer.

The answer gets hidden if it is not relevant to the question , or it is a one word answer .
