Live in St. Louis...will I have to worry about traveling out of my home after new shooting?

There was a new racial charged shooting in St. Louis proper. I'm white, and I'm frightened to leave my home. I've heard riots and violence and everything. Would it be best if I stayed with my cousin in Jefferson County (about an hour away)?
