Why would conservatives make up a story that the police officer who shot Brown suffered a broken orbital bone?
You should have said he had a broken nose. Nobody is going to believe the guy hit his target 6 times with an eye injury.

They don't have to just make stuff up. They just report only the details that support their case. People who depend on Fox for all their news, often they don't even realize there is another side to the story!
But when there aren't enough facts on their side to report, THEN they make stuff up!

They didn't make that up. I've heard it from plenty of news sources, including liberal news analysts like Cenk Uygur. There is a strong case to make that this was a homicide, but the evidence before the public is certainly not a slam dunk. What is clear is that there is more than enough evidence for probable cause to make an arrest while further investigation is done. We know something about the autopsies, the many witness statements (including the officer, Brown's friend, and many 3rd parties who were uninvolved). We know that Brown was shot at least 6 times, most or all from the front. (1 shot in the arm and the two grazing shots could have come from behind or the front, depending on arm position). We don't know anything about the inspection of the officer, police car, blood spatter, or generally anything about the crime scene other than one cell phone video and the officer's testimony that he fired the fatal shots from 35 feet away. The physical evidence that we have is consistent with the witness testimony, but also consistent with the (I think unlikely) notion that after running away, Brown turned and charged at an armed police officer from 35 feet away when he himself was unarmed, while Brown was either sober or, at most, on marijuana (which would make such behavior less likely, not more likely, but a positive marijuana test only tells you he had some in the last 40 days, not that he was actively high).
Now maybe Brown was guilty of assault. He was certainly guilty of robbery (though the officer didn't know it) and he was guilty of jaywalking. Perhaps he was also guilty of failing to obey a lawful order too. How does that justify the shooting? That justifies arrest, not execution. He was not fleeing when he was shot. If he was charging, well, the blood spatter would probably help you determine that, but I find it highly unlikely and none of the witnesses say he was but that would be a good defense that this is only an administrative issue. If he wasn't charging, this is homicide. The evidence points to homicide and there is more than enough for an arrest while they continue to collect more and prepare for the actual trial.
The bigger issue, though, is the pattern of behavior, such as the man beaten while in his cell and then charged with destruction of property for bleeding on the police uniform. That's just the most obvious case of MANY in the region. The protests are over the general treatment. The Brown case just triggered it. The handling of the protests shows that this is the stupidest police unit in the nation, escalating tensions rather than ratcheting them down.

Maybe the eye injury is why it took him so many shots, with most of them off to the side instead of center because his depth perception was compromised?
Really, you can take your supposed argument and make a case for or against yourself...IF you're thinking. As with most of the 'arguments' on either side of this case here on Y!A....it's sad.

I understand a Grand Jury on Wednesday is going to decide if this policeman is to face any charges for shooting the black man. My understanding is that the 6"4 black man punched the officer in the eye after he had told Brown and another man to stop walking in the road. He also grabbed the policemans gun. The policeman feared for his life and it was certainly self defence.

Why would witnesses say he was shot in the back while running for his life ?

Really......... the only thing "conservatives" have are lies. They are a bunch of miserable, racist morons. And they have to make up the lies to keep themselves convinced that they're the REAL Americans.
