I think it's simply saying that your inner beauty is more important then your outer appearance. The bible also says to honor God with everything you do. So, when you ware the latest fashions ware something that would honor God. You can be modest and trendy at the same time. It doesn't say it's wrong to do those things. I think it's saying that you shouldn't let your outward appearance be more important then God or your inner beauty. Does that make sense? I'm a Christian girl, and while I agree that inner beauty is the most important sort, outside beauty is fun, too! I try to dress as sharply and stylishly as possible--no baggy sweatpants for me! Right now I'm wearing a glittery red dress with a gold belt and fishnet stockings. Being well-groomed makes me feel beautiful!
