Has anybody here had a shunt for hydrocephalus? I am desperate to discuss this! My doctor said she hears a "whooshing" sound.?

Sometimes when people have headaches they may hear whooshing, buzzing, or beeping sounds.

I just had a look on the internet, and there are cases of people who say that they themselves can hear something, but that I doubt that even a malfunctioning shunt can be heard by another person.

As far as I know... it is impossible that the shunt is actually causing any vibration that can be heard as sound by another person.

Hydrocephalus, I doubt can be heard as a whooshing sound.

It manifest it self in form of severe headaches or vomiting etc.

If in doubt consult a Neuro Surgeon and get a CT or an MRI done.

    Do not take lightly.
