Pretty much the same way you can tell with other people. Seriously, it's not like we are phucking aliens or something. We have all the same emotions regular people have.......

Translation: How can you tell someone has strong feelings/cares for you?

Seemingly, someone with this 'diagnosis du jour' is excusing or has motivated your personal excusing (well, blaming) your inability to discern, and that, in my world, makes you dangerous on the highway, as a friend, parent, employee, employer (GOD BLESS the employee that depends on YOU, for christ's sake), and please relieve my greatest fear... ASSURE me you are not in law enforcement, and that my life may very well depend on your inability to make "snap" decisions., Your mommy may not be available to tell you how you can tell if someone with a gun to my head will pull the trigger should i be held at gunpoint in my tattoo shops. (hey, it's happened three times in 23 years and my bipolar 1 diagnosis didn't stop that good ole 'lick'ah sense' stuff that "I'M" made of.

    Have you been diagnosed?

    ::raising hand::

    I CAN ANSWER THAT !!!! ( pick me...pick me !! )

    no.

The only difference between you and someone with 'bipolarity' is... YOU haven't walked into a psych arena and been diagnosed. SURPRISE !!!!

(Prove me wrong. Make an appointment with no hidden agenda in tow. )

SIDEBAR : I predict (ahhhhhhmmmmm....) a medication regimen in your future (ahhhhhmmmm...) consisting of anti-depressants, anti-anxietals, (ahhhhmmmmmmm...) OH YEAH.... [holy cow turds, I almost tripped and fell off my 'ahhhhmmm... i can predict your future' soapbox.] THAT WOULD'AH HURT !!... but i'm back on track (whew!), and the medications to treat the 'disorders' you most likely have and NEED medicating such as Generalized Anxiety (who ain't got'ah huge case'ah THAT), panic disorder, ADD, GAD, OCD, LMNOP, ETC. and so on. (etc. and so on? whoooah). Redundant? YEAH, but don't remind me. Afterall, I'm bi... PO-LAR CRAZY, i mean ! <<wink>>

Considering you can't tell if someone cares about you (psssst... ::lookin' all around and whisperin' to the guy next to me... "Is he fa real? WHO allows these wing nuts to walk around loose and unaccompanied...YIKES !?! " ), I feel confident that whatever Velcro meds are thrown at you, you'll buy into that load horsecrap and gulp the ones that stick, no questions asked.

That's the stuff (and the plethora of fair-haired boys/men and girls/women) that BIG PHARMA and the psych industry is made of... the "non-thinker-for-them-self-ers".

FACTOID : NONE of the pseudo candy docs know crapola about these very potent (in most cases street heroin would be a safe zone, comparatively) drugs and how they interact with your ...-for instance- SERATONIN LEVELS and more times than not, anti-depressants can lead to 'seratonin syndrome' which can be lethal and lemme just up'n give this run-on sentence some stamina and mention that these non-addictive designer drugs are not only extremely addictive, but you don't get the benefit of that knowledge and try to get a benzodiazopine (benzo) which are extremely effective drug that results in dependence, not addiction, and is effective for the most horrific of 'disorders', panic disorder without a fight and being labeled a "drug seeker."

TRUST ME... if you accept this challenge (man, i'm feelin' like one'ah 'Charlie's Angels') to be diagnosed and indulge an Axis diagnosis by a competent psychiatrist... (not a psychologist, mind ya) and you DO suffer with disorders which most of us do, considering the state of the world, finances, crime, etc. (and anxiety being the most common)... you will NOT be medicated appropriately for your possible disorder(s) which is/are pre-disposed more often than not, a bitter angst unbelievably difficult to live with, which is easily medicated, and by no means a 'hit-n-misser' any more than antibiotics or blood pressure medications, and a zillion times more likely to be properly diagnosed than the psychotic/ schizophrenic/ schizo-effective bullshit that is, IMHO, an excuse for bad behavior and parental laziness... but that's just my opinion ... NO ROCKET SCIENCE INVOLVED...

(but then there's that good ole societal stigma you're at the mercy of) based on it's popularity as a 'street drug' used by hardcore drug abusers, yet an effective medication that's about ummmmm.... $8.00-$50.00/mo.

Those extremely overrated psychotic diagnostic patients doomed to a reputation of potential dangers to society accompanied by the segment of humanity with a 'strong potential' for criminal behavior, at least... and crimes against humanity, at best.

Most importantly (more important than the sick labels mentioned above), these diagnoses put the patient smack in the $300-$700 realm of medications that do nothing but make stuff worse for them (on so many levels) and much better for the drug manufacturers (most of which own rehab centers, by the way) as well as the physician receiving no monetary kick-back (myth) but a swell Alaskan cruise, a yacht or two, limos, weddings catered... the possibilities in the pay-off arena are endless.

With your original question considered, you'll be the *****-BOY of the season, they'll be fightin' tooth'n nail over ya. (lotsa love for people that has to ask how to tell if someone cares about them.) THAT is a mere $20 crack rock that says ta 'Mistah Big'... CASH COW, BAYBEE, CASH COWWWWWWWWWWWWW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOOOOO... please know the only difference between you and the chick in question is merely... YOU haven't been diagnosed.

We are ALL bipolar, logically. We all have highs and lows.

With her diagnosis in your back pocket and the truth I just related to you (and that was the short version)... if given the choice, which of the two'ah ya would you put your child's life in the hands of?

DO NOT say "you don't know me" because I don't have to know you for you to not only tell me who you are, unwittingly, but to SHOW me who you are...

Now wasn't this enjoyable !!!! Don't be careful what you ask for, please. You might miss out on the "Me's" of the world. (Wouldn't that be a shame.)
