Anything to the power of a negative number becomes a denominator.

For instance 3a^-1 = 3/a... Or 4a^-3 = 4/(a^3), but remember the constant at the front stays on top

    So in this case, 2a^-1 = 2/a

a ^(-1) is just the same as 1/a

    so we have (2/a) * 3 a^2 = 6a

    a^-1*a^2= a^1=a

    2*3=6

    so answer 6a
