I don't remember where they were going, but I swear Sean Penn was in it. I don't remember much about it, but I remember seeing Orthodox Russian churches.

Thank you...I might be thinking of a different movie. I did see At Close Range, maybe I saw it around the same time I saw the movie I'm thinking of. The 80s are kind of a blur :)
