Car battery was jumped today. Did it recharge enough to start tomorrow?

I left my headlights on today for a few hours and the battery died. Dumb, I know, but sh*t happens. My friend gave me a jump. The car started almost right away, and I drove home. The ride was almost 40 miles and took about 45 minutes. The battery is only 2 years old or so. When I got home, I turned the car off and restarted it a few minutes later. It started without a problem. I'm pretty sure it will be OK to start tomorrow morning, but a little reassurance would help me sleep tonight! Thanks!

40 miles is enough to charge your cars alternator so yes it should start unless your battery and alternator is faulty

The battery is fine what is wrong is the driver. All cars have chimes to indicate the headlights are left of with the ignition OFF and the driver's door is open. You elected to ignore that. Now this. The battery is fine. Sleep well. The key issue is not to repeat this mistake by using steps when leaving the car. Brake to a stop. Place the car in Park, secure the parking brake. Turn off the lights or check off, Remove the key and check for chimes. Leave the car. Lock the car.

Sleep tight but don't keep trying to start it or you'll wear it down again.
