Democrats do the same thig.
Reason: Libertarians are a threat to what they used to call in the 60s "The Establishment".
The 2-party system are just 2 sides of the same rotten coin, they trade off providing the Proletariat with the illusion of choice. Libertarians and our closest nearest relative anarchists (not meaning chaos but it's from the Latin an=against or non... monarchy) are a direct and growing threat to the existing order.
Right now it doesn't matter who we vote for. Libertarians provide a choice. Hence they threaten the old boys' network system of control.
