Yeah, Lynne beat me to it. When peeps post internet fringe myths about my religion, those aims are what they're really saying they oppose. Scientologists are happy to help the Church with those programs. What those who complain are really telling you is that they want others to work without pay to give them free services. That viewpoint is right out of the Communist Manifesto -- Take from those who produce and give to those who don't.

You can study Scientology and learn it without ever stepping foot in a Church or Mission. The books are free to read in the library and there are free courses at http://www.scientology.org/courses.html

And no, the goal of the people running it are the Aims, as proven by the social betterment programs run by them. You can see that at http://www.scientology.org/how-we-help.html

I was going to give you the the article "Aims of Scientology", but Lynne already did that for you. You can check out that link. In addition to that I invite you to see the video series "How We Help" and "Voice for Humanity" to get a better understanding of how we achieve these goals.

Here’s the opening paragraph from the article called “The Aims of Scientology “ by L.Ron Hubbard

(written circa 1965) which states the aims and goals of this religion.

“ A civilzation without insanity, without criminals and without war, where the able can prosper and honest beings can have rights, and where Man is free to rise to greater heights, are the aims of Scientology. “

For full article click here: http://www.scientology.ca/what-is-scientology/the-...

The goal is the same goal expressed by religion in all Man's written history : the freeing of the soul by wisdom.

That is how the aims of Scientology is achieved ... through spiritual knowledge .

... " know thyself and the truth shall set you free " is an earlier example of this goal of religion.

While he was alive, L. Ron Hubbard was quoted as saying that the best way to achieve immortality was to found your own religion.

Money, which gives it yet another religious sanctification. They all exist to make money. I wonder what god does with all his? I can figure out what L Ron needs with cash, but I have never known why God needed it.

To mulct the maximum number of people in order to make the most money possible.

    mulct

    > extract money from (someone)

It is not a religious faith. It is a con game.

The goal of scientology it to make money, not unlike the Catholic Church.

    Scientology calls itself a religion.

Do some reading and decide for yourself:
