Identify this bush / fruit?

This bush is located in North Georgia in the mountains. It has small fruit that taste somewhat like apple sauce with a slightly bitter after taste.

    The first one looks like snowberry (Symphocarpus albus)

    The second picture - I'm not sure if the berries that are washed out in the center of the picture belong are beneath the one with the longer leaves showing around the edges of the photograph, and that the berries are growing on something under neath that shrub. If it's in fact the same one in the first picture, and that the leaves are not as snub and rounded as they appear in the first picture...and that the berries are NOT white, as they appear in the photograph...then I'm stumped. At least for now.

    The leaves look like the Highbush blueberry. Maybe unripe fruit?
