Geez dude, mind if you help us narrow it down a bit? I can probably list 1000 movies that are good to write about. Anything in specific? At least give us a genre.

In my film class at BYU, I did my final paper on Gladiator. That's a great one. I also am currently gathering data and forming opinionated rhetoric to write an article on the brilliance of "Hot Fuzz."

You could write about movies in the IMDB top 250 list, the highest rated movies on the world's largest internet movie database: http://www.imdb.com/chart/top?ref_=nv_ch_250_4

You could also write about the epitomes of each genre. For example; in my opinion The Thing (1982), Jaws, Alien, Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, all these are the epitome of horror, and groundbreaking in both horror and film in general. For comedy I'd do Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Airplane!, Groundhog Day or The Hangover. For crime I'd do The Sting. Ya folla?

See what I did there? You wouldn't get it if you've never seen The Sting ;)

And any of your favorite movies would be great to write about. Hot Fuzz is my personal favorite (if I had a gun to my head and was forced to pick just one favorite movie), so I choose to write about it. Go with some personal favorites of yours.

Or you could write about a controversial movie, and maybe argue one or both sides of it. For example, you could write an article about misogyny based on the movie "In the Company of Men." Or you could write about movies that were highly controversial at the time, like George A. Romero's "Night of the Living Dead." Google "most controversial movies" and you'll get a lot of good ideas here.

Or you could write about movies that deal with hot topics today, such as homosexuality, internet/school/work bullies, the war in the Middle East, terrorism (a great movie for that would be "The Kingdom"), technology (The Social Network, Jobs, The Lawnmower Man), politics in general (a good one here would be "In the Loop").

You can write about Hellraiser. All of the movies are available.on Netflix, which is very rare to have all listed as most don't have all parts for viewing. There are different topics to discuss about Hellraiser including the general portrayal of Hell that people of cultures seem to accept.

so i just got a macbook and I'm extremely interested in film editing. I'm 15 and already done plenty of videos that are welled edited.(i even have people asking me to do a video for their website) but anyways i wanted to go far and do a movie! i have 2 professional camera (one is mine the other is my sisters but she never uses it) so i wanted a very good plot first on what this movie should be about.. i like very mystery movies like Pretty little Liars or anything like that.. i don't want it to be sooo professional to show the world. i just wanted to show my family and friends and maybe post it! I'm definitely not going to be in it but my 2 LITTLE cousins will.. one is 8 another is 5 they are very smart and can talk haha but what are some good story mystery ideas for 2 little boys?? it can also be adventurous! or maybe like funny cartoon kinda.. if you know what i mean by that??? or just a normal movie/show!! i might do episodes or movie depending on ideas! thanks so much! 10 points for best answer?

I wrote a research paper comparing the treatment of women in Anchorman (the first one) and The Little Rascals compared to the actual treatment of women during the respective time periods. Got an A because I as create and funny using the quote, "I believe diversity is an old wooden ship used back in the Civil War era" and stuff like that. Teachers like funny because it draws their attention and its not just another boring paper to read.

It would be hard to go wrong. Casablanca would be a good choice because there is so much information available about the actors, script, producer and director and other things including how it tied into the current events of the time.
