Pan's Labyrinth; is there any English-dubbed versions? And if not, why?

I got Pan's Labyrinth, and despite an English cover, English writing, it isn't in English. Is this movie deliberately kept this way, and if so - why?

No there's no English version of it. The director and writer, Guillermo del Toro, purposely chose to do it in Spanish. The movie is set in 1944 Spain after all and more importantly he wanted to do the film how he thought it should be done. Going for quality and realism, which was definitely the best choice.

It's really an amazing movie though, don't let the foreign language put you off. I'd imagine you would get used to the subtitles after the first 10-15 minutes or so, it just takes a little practice.

Apparently there **IS** an English dubbed version on Blu-Ray, but it's region 2 (UK) only. Boo.
