Should I see a school (university) counselor?

Update:

There is something wrong, can't pinpoint it, but its effecting my grades.

More importantly, do universities keep this kind of stuff private or is it a permanent mark on your record with them? I really want to avoid that if that's the case and find alternatives.

All counseling and psychological services anywhere, including college campuses are 110% confidential, if your counselor ever reveals your personal information to anyone they lose their jobs. That is, unless you say that you're going to hurt yourself or someone else, in which case they have to refer you to immediate intervention services for the sake of crime/suicide prevention.

If you feel like something is wrong then something is wrong and you should go get help from your schools counseling services. You should never be afraid or ashamed of getting help. In fact having the courage to recognize your problems and actively get help to solve them is one of the bravest things you can do. Everyone needs help at some point in their lives, there's no shame in it.

Im pretty sure they dont keep records of that. They only concern themselves with your academics, not your medical. I think that is illegal for them to get that info anyways, unless you sign papers saying "release my medical records to the school".

In other words, go to the counselor. University is frickin hard, you NEED to be at your maximum mental health to succeed in University.

also, maybe you are trying to do too many things. I had this problem, my grades suffered because I was doing marching band, concert band, a choir, dance club. . . blah blah. ease back. focus on your studies. Dont overwhelm yourself, but make sure to have a little fun too.
