5 pound a week is a ridiculous goal. you need a deficit of 2500 calories a day, which is near the caloric intake of most people. You shouldn't be going for that much unless you're 350-400 pounds currently. If you're a reasonable weight, go for around 2 pounds a week. 2 pounds is even a hefty goal by most standard though.

Five pounds a week is too high of a goal. The highest safe amount is about 1 pound a week. and if you cut 300 calories of food a day and add 300 calories of exercise to your daily routine you should be able to do that.
