Can you develop and get over a cold in 24 hours?

Hi, I wanted to know if anyone knew the shortest amount of time you can have a cold for, because whenever I get a cold it onsets rapidly, and I recover rapidly, however the intensity of the cold seems to be much heavier during this time.

Yesterday evening, I felt a tickle in my throat, and 2 hours later I had running nose and fever, which got worse into the night. My throat then got really sore, and I've been up most the night.

I just slept all morning, and just like all the other time I got a cold, I seem to be recovering. My nose stopped running, my fever is gone and my throat is feeling much better.

I just think its pretty odd how an ilness can come and go so fast, is this normal, is it a metabolism thing? (im really skinny)

Any info would be great, I had a look online but couldn't seem to find an answer/.

Colds normally last 3-7 days. You actually probably had flu. Flu symptoms start very suddenly and the fact that you had a fever is a good indicator. Fever is actually not a common cold symptom at all. More a flu symptom.
