I was playing with my cat & she got hit in the eye?

My kitten is about 5 month old, I was playing with her tonight with one of those sticks with the elastic with a toy at the end and I was going a little fast I must admit and it twanged and hit her in the face :( I feel so guilty I hope I haven't injured her, she ran straight upstairs with shock so I followed her to have a look and her left pupil is smaller than her right pupil? What does this mean & what should I do I feel awful:( she came back down and hasn't made a noise or anything she just jeeps closing her eyes & is laid down now sleeping? :( thank you

Cats get scared easily, so her running off and hiding isn't something to be worried about. She was just surprised and frightened. Her closing her eyes might just be related to her sleeping. It doesn't sound like could have done any damage, but I'd watch her for a day and if she isn't using her eye normal take her to the vet.

I somehow doubt you did serious damage unless you were using an anvil for a cat toy. It probably just scared her. If she shows any changes in habits or behavior, take her to the vet just in case but I'm sure she's fine.

She'll be fine as long as she's not bleeding. Don't be so rough next time. You scared her is why she's just chilling out for now. Take a damp hand towel and wipe her eye to make sure there's no blood. Good luck! All she needs is a little time to relax and let her eye stop hurting.
