Sore Throat after drinking Beer?

So um, I was at a party, and I got peer pressured into drinking beer. Not allot. Like a few sips here and there. I faked drinking it so I didn't have too much. It was Jack Daniels mixed with coke. And, I didn't like the waste so I refrained from drinking it best I could. A little later I got a head ache so I went hope and I just woke up 10 minutes ago with a bad sore throat.

Could the beer be behind the sore throat? I'm wondering because I felt fine and all before I had the beer. And I don't wanna go to the doctors or tell my parents (don't judge guys, this happens to the best of us). Should I just treat it as normal and then see my doctor if it doesn't go away in like a week or something?

Or can beer not cause sore throats, I'm overreacting and probably am just getting sick. I drank out of my friends cup, but she didn't seem sick or anything.

Thanks guys. And again, no rude answers or judgmental comments please. We all have our first beer one time or another.

Thanks all.

I think you're just starting to get sick from being around so many people. One or more of them might have been carrying something.

Don't think it's the beer mate. Probably just starting to get sick.
