what does stillness of the mind feel like?

Is it possible to accurately reaccount what stillness of the mind feels like? What is the state? I am referring to meditative type states.

i think what is to be stilled

is the self centered unruliness of the subconscious mind such that the ego can better see its false attachments due to vain activities of imaginations of the ego in the past and move towards the realignment of the ego with compassion freed from past self deceits that have become habitual energies in the subconscious where

Gen 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

NOW I DON'T THINK THIS SAYS THAT EVERY IMAGINATION IS EVIL BUT DUE TO THE UNDEALT WITH PAST SINS INDIVIDUAL GOOD IMAGINATIONS ARE NOT ENOUGH TO BRING ALL ASPECTS OF THE SOUL INTO PROPER FULL FUNCTIONS OF ITS IMAGINATIONS ...

this point i think is what the follow biblical passage is about..

Rom 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

Rom 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

Rom 2:15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

in this lifetime one should be troubled in both spirit and soul by the wickedness and sorrows that are part of this earthly life..but it is by learning thru stillness what jesus taught ...

Joh 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

Joh 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

one last bible quote that i think is applicable here..

Ecc 7:3 Grauitie is better then to laugh: for when the countenaunce is heauie, the heart is refourmed.

Ecc 7:4 The heart of the wise is in the mourning house: but the heart of the foolishe is in the house of myrth.

YES THAT IS ENGLISH..EARLY MODERN ENGLISH OF THE BISHOP' BIBLE :)

The mind is an activity. It is never still. It may be more still at times than others. I liken stillness to be as refusing to ride a wave of thought. Instead just staying out here on the ocean of thoughts riding up and down on them peacefully rather than catching one and riding it out. That is about as peaceful as I can get living in society as I am. Other times my mind has been like a nice quiet peaceful little pond in the forest undisturbed by lots of other things going on around it. Every now and then it would be disturbed by deer and other denizens of the forest who drop on in for a drink of cool fresh water from my pond.

Stillness of the mind feels like my body. Literally. For me to truly understand a concept or idea, i need to find its origins. In this case, since it was always difficult for me to quiet my mind, i needed to go back to my time of birth. When you are a newborn you do not know anything, thought-wise. You only feel the world around you with your new senses. Pretend you are a new born, feeling the world around you. What does the temperature feel like on you skin? what does the air smell like? can you hear your heart beating? don't think it, feel it.
