Wireless Network Adapter gone missing.?

I am trying to fix a laptop, everything went ok so far but there is one thing I couldn't fix. The wireless network adapter is nowhere to be seen its not disabled or anything its just gone not there any more not even in device manager, the only thing I can see is the "Local Area Connection" which requires a cable to be plugged in. I thought they would reappear after I reinstalled the windows but nothing. I went searching for drivers for the laptop and all I could fix was the "Local Area Connection".

The laptop is Toshiba

The system model is Satellite C655

You have not given the full model number but as far as @I can see there can be one of three different WiFi adapters Realtek,Broadcom,or Atheros. So you will have to find out which one you have.

You can possibly try one at a time but suggest you do a Restore point before each one incase the wrong ones cause system problems.

The Toshiba web page ?I am looking at is http://support.toshiba.com/support/driversResults?...

but you can use the full model number just in case but my guess is they will be the same

Go to this site and click the drivers. You'll have to click more to view more drivrs. I know there are at least 2 wifi drivers. So if you don't know which one you have you'll just have to try until you find the right one.

just install the driver from the toshiba website. if you don't know which one it is, install them all until it shows up in device manager.

You can go toshiba.com and find out your wireless network driver and install. I think it'll be solved.
