Question regarding college applications?

I am currently a junior in high school and I'm a little confused on the application process. I plan on going to a community college for a year (it would be two, but I will have AP credit equal to about a year) to get general courses out of the way since I will have to pay less for the same classes, and later transfer into a 4 year university where I finish my specialized, major-oriented classes for the last two years.

That said, next year when I'm compiling the information and getting ready to send out my application, do I send it only to the community college, or do I send it to the university as well even though I'm not planning on immediately attending the university?

Thanks.

Apply to the school that you are planning to attend first - the community college. You'll apply to the university later as a transfer student.
