Can a husband go into the room at the OBGYN with his wife?

Update:

Why? They are legally bound to one another. If it were my wife, I'd go with her to the room regardless.

    Yes, at her request and with the doctor's permission. However, you're being a ridiculous control freak, and no woman wants a nosy husband tagging along to her doctor's appointments.
