What main courses are good to pair with a fruit salad?

I have to record myself making a meal for my culinary final and I definitely want to have a fruit salad be my side dish, but I can't think I any foods that'll go well with a fruit salad other than burgers or just plain chicken. Does anyone have any ideas? It can be literally anything.

    * Asian Chicken - cooked chicken breast, mixed greens, carrots, snap peas, mandarin oranges, and crunchy wontons or asian noodles with a sesame orange dressing (Brianna's makes a good one)

    * Taco Salad - ground beef or turkey, shredded iceberg, red bell peppers, red onions, corn, black beans, black olives, tomatoes, avocado, and crushed tortilla chips in either salsa or ranch dressing.

    * Italian Salad - romaine, black olives, red onions, mushrooms, cheese cubes, pepperoni or salami cubes (or both), and tomatoes.

    * Cozy Salad - mixed field greens, grilled chicken or salmon, apples, pistachios, grapes, blue cheese, and dried cranberries in raspberry vinaigrette.

Some depends on the fruit you are using. Apples, peaches, pears, oranges, lemon juice, pineapple, mango, papaya, coconut, etc..

A basic European picnic is fruit/wine, cheese and bread. You can work from this.

Red wine is typically added to red meat and marinara sauces. White wine to cheese dishes and white sauces, like fondue. A chocolate fondue is fun with fruits. These basics can lead to individual, complementary dishes. Why does strawberry short cake work very well as one dish? What if each of your fruits were spread across each dish? Grapes and tangerines or pears in the salad. Fruit chutneys can go on meat, rice, or breads. Apple sauce (made yourself with cinnamon and larger chunks of apple) or the Pacific fruits go nicely with pork. Then a variety of fruits and cheeses as the finishing course. Or a larger fruit tort that has a "fruit salad" on top of it.

In addition, your culinary institution should learn and teach ideal food combinations. Fruit is best eaten by itself on an empty stomach; it is the easiest single food to digest. They clear the stomach in a half hours. I hope you research this for your future choices, and share with those you know, including your chefs.
