Could NATO allow Russian bases in Turkey as compensation for sanctions?

Russia has lost a lot of money through trade sanctions in a misunderstanding with the west.

Turkey is a NATO country that wants membership in the Commonwealth of Independent States or even the EU.

As compensation and an apology for this years misunderstanding , could NATO offer parts of the Turkish coast line to Russia for them to set up military naval bases?

I think the west has made a big misjudgement with Russia. Russian army are only protecting vulnerable Russian woman and children from neo nazi gangs in Ukraine.

Secondly Crimea voted to be independent from Ukraine.

3rd only Russia has the correct solution to problems in Syria. Giving the Russians military bases in Turkey will help them keep a closer eye on Turkey and the Middle East.

Misunderstanding? Kind of like the misunderstanding Hitler had with the Russians, Brits, Poles, Czechs, and French back in 1939? You have a future in politics with your language skills.

Like Chetak said, it is up to the Turks. NATO has no say in the internal affairs of its members. And why would anyone compensate someone else for a punishment they believe they lawfully inflicted? I second MAJ Kev's motion.

Russia could fork over all their nukes as an apology, too.

Edited to add: the Russian trolls seemed to be quiet lately; I'm guessing they've got marching orders to try and counteract the fact that their economy is crashing worse than in the 1990s right now.

It isn't up to NATO but to Turkey and I imagine the Turkish people and their Military want a lot of Russians there, after all they have been enemies for decades

    "Misunderstanding"

Which part is that? The part where the Russians continue to supply arms and equipment to barbaric separatists who shot down a civilian airliner and butcher innocent Ukranians? Or the part where they continue to show their expansionist ways by rolling into the Crimea?

    Oh yes quite the misunderstanding.

The only misunderstanding is on your part.

Just possibly the most moronic question this week ... and it is only Tuesday.
