There are similar sites, but you will find things about the same or much worse than on YA. Allexperts is a site where you submit questions to specific experts and wait for an answer (2-3 days). LivePerson is faster, but you pay for the answers. If all you want is chat, try 4Chan, Facebook, Chatzy, Ask.fm, and Omegle. Many more can be found at the reference.

There is no other general question and answer site like this. There are plenty of specialist sites dealing with particular subjects (motoring, finance, benefits, etc) which are better in those fields - but not knowing the subject of your question I can't really suggest anything.

Oh the irony! Using YA to ask for another site to ask Qs.I don't think YA would look kindly on us recommending an opposition site,maybe that would be seen as spam?
